Morettino Italian Café and Bistro

Hey ya!

So I went to 100AM again (the previous time for Mazesoba) but this time for Italian food!

This cafe/bistro sells its own coffee blends - wow! It also stocks some pasta and other food products like bread sticks??? that you can buy.

I was craving pizza that day, so I just focused on choosing a pizza from the menu. There's chicken pesto, margherita, etc. Here's the menu if you need it.

Being an Italian restaurant, of course it didn't serve Hawaiian pizza.

(Who started adding pineapples to pizza anyway?)

Quick search:

Sam Panopoulos, who was born in Greece and moved to Canada when he was 20, decided to try out pineapple on pizza in 1962 to attract customers to one of his Ontario-based restaurants. ... They named it Hawaiian pizza after the brand of canned pineapple used on the pie.- Time Magazine 2017

Anyway,  I got the Quattro Formaggio (4 Cheese) Pizza. The staff asked if we needed sharing plates but...I really just wanted the whole pizza to myself. LOL joking I shared ok.

Crust was the chewy kind, and though it flops around, I enjoyed it very much!

The 4 cheeses were very strong in flavour. Kinda oily but damn the pizza hit the spot! After a while one of the cheeses grew very pungent to me... I wonder which?

I actually brought a plastic lunchbox (#BYO) in case I had to dabao a pizza slice home, but ended up finishing everything. I guess I shouldn't underestimate myself, teehee.

My friend went for the Crab Granchio Pasta, which ended up being unexpectedly spicy! Careful there if you don't like fiery pastas. Very generous portion though.

The restaurant is a really nice and chill place to relax. Good ambience, nothing to complain about. Food doesn't have much wow factor, but it's decent and made super affordable with Entertainer/Burpple (it's on both apps.) About $15-16 each for this meal. Maybe good for a second date or if you just want a calm and quiet place near the CBD to make conversation.

Love,
Skye

P.S. You can use Chope here.

P.P.S. Maybe I am also missing the point of visiting this Italian cafe/bistro without trying its signature coffee or wines? Haha. Well. These two beverages are not really my thing though, so this post is just based on my own tastes~
