Tea Time: T2 Detox

Hello!

Welcome back to another session of Tea Time!

Today's tea is the T2 Detox from T2 tea. It's a loose leaf herbal tisane. If you're wondering what a tisane is, it's a plant based herbal infusion which usually contains no caffeine, as compared to 'true' teas. A tisane can be made from leaves, roots, bark, berries, and even seeds.

You may have chanced upon a T2 tea shop in Singapore, especially in the Orchard area. They have shops in ION and also in Somerset. T2 is an Australian company, and they use bold, bright packaging.

Ingredients: Fennel, juniper berries, stinging nettle, sweet blackberry leaves, lemongrass, marigold petals, liquorice root, spearmint, rose buds.

Sounds very interesting isn't it? Very different from the usual Chinese and Japanese teas. Been reading a lot of witchy books recently and this looks like what a witch would gather. Haha.

After a weekend of wedges, fries and junk food, what I really needed was a detox.

Let's take a cautious whiff...it smells mostly like straw really. Haha. There are whole, real berries though!

Let's get some hot water in there and steep it for 3-5 minutes.

Taste: Not much flavour, but the 'straw' kinda smell remains. It's not smoky nor sweet. I wouldn't say I dislike it as it is rather neutral tasting. It's okay, I guess.

Verdict: Very HYPE packaging, but taste wise I'm not a big fan as it tastes rather bland. Also has a 'straw' like kind of smell that come across as unusual for the usual black/green tea drinker.

Till next time! The tea adventure continues.
